CEC Boys Get #3 Seed In 7AA Playoffs

With the various girls hockey section champions about to be crowned and boys hockey playoffs about to begin, Northland Sports Online has learned the CEC Lumberjacks (16-7-0) will be the #3 seed. The Jacks will host #6 seed Andover (8-15-0) in the first round of the Section 7aa playoffs which begin on Tuesday, February 22.

Duluth East with an overall record of 18-5-0 received the #1 seed and will play #8 seed Cambridge-Isanti (11-11-3). Grand Rapids (20-3-1) was awarded the #2 seed and will square off against #7 seed St. Francis (7-17-0). The other first round game will pit the #4 seeded Elk River Elks (10-13-1) against #5 seed Forest Lake (9-11-4). All first round games will be played at the high seed.

The remaining rounds of the Section 7aa tournament will be played at Amsoil Arena with the Semi-Finals scheduled for Feb 26 and the Section finals on March 3.
