Strong Second Half Propels AlBrook Girls To Victory

The Falcons broke a tie score at halftime Friday night to knock off Tower-Soudan at home and pick up a section and conference win at AlBrook High School. With the score tied at 20-20 at halftime the Falcons outscored the Golden Eagles by seven points to garner the win.


Kourtney Karppinen was dead on Friday night, nailing five three-pointers in the win. She had a game high 17 points as the Falcons picked up their sixth win of the season. The Falcons improve to 6-12 overall, they also move to 6-9 in section play, and they also improve to 2-5 in the conference.


Following Karppinen in scoring was Kendra Dallmann, who finished with 16 points, Marissa Thibault added 9, Alyssa Johnson chipped in with 6, Mikayla Olesiak added 4, and rounding out the scoring with 1 point was Laurel Morris.


The Golden Eagles were led by Julia Elkins who finished with 14 points, Katie Lenci added 10, Kylie Lenci finished with 9, Danielle Lenci added 5, Hayley Lilya finished with 4, Taneesha Dupree added 2, and it was Sabrina Kelley with 1 point on the night.


The Falcons will be in action again on Tuesday night when they will host Fond du Lac at AlBrook High School. Tower Soudan falls to an overall record of 11-7 and they are back in action again on Thursday night when they host the Cook Little Gophers.
