Myhre Hits 10 3-pointers In Barnum Win

Barnum Bomber Katie Myhre has been on a three-point tear lately. Katie nailed nine three-pointers on Monday against Hibbing and for an encore on Thursday night, Myhre hit a season high ten three-pointers to lead her Bombers to a 67-23 win in Moose Lake over the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels.


Thursday’s conference win improves the Bombers record to 8-1 in conference play. The Bombers jumped out to a first half lead of 33-12 at the break, the Bombers again played well in the second half as they shut down Moose Lake-Willow River and went on to win by forty-four points on the night.


Myhre led all scorers Thursday with 31 points, Jessica Newman finished with 16, Daron Mainville added 9, Claudia Turner and Claire Rodgers each ended with 4, and Caitlyn Rodgers closed out the Barnum scoring with 3 points in the road win. Newman and Caitlyn Rodgers also netted three-pointers in the Bomber win.


Shaeyln Halverson scored 6 points for the Rebels on the night to lead her team in scoring; all six points came on three-pointers in the loss. Maddy Adamczak finished with 5 points, Sam Johnson and Taylor Miller each added 3, Julianna Coil, Adri and Alyssa Jusczak all ended with 2 points In the Rebels loss at home.


The Bombers improve to 19-1 on the season and they will be in action again on Monday night when the face another Polar League opponent, the Carlton Bulldogs at Carlton High School. The Rebels fall to 7-11, they are in action again on Friday night when they host the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears.
