It’s now five wins in a row for the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team! The Jacks picked up another key win on Saturday afternoon when they shutout Cambridge-Isanti on the road 3-0 behind two goals by Jessie Ryan and superb goaltending of Katie Beckman.

The Jacks started a little slow in the first period and were outshot by the Blue Jackets 11-6. Despite being outshot in the period, Beckman and the team defense kept the game scoreless giving CEC a chance to get their offense revived in the second period.

Midway through the second period, at 8:22, Jessie Ryan pumped in a goal giving CEC a 1-0 lead. Kelly Carlson added to the Jacks lead at 12:45 of the second with Dalyce Gustafson adding an assist as CEC went up 2-0 in a period in which they outshot CI 11-6.

The lone goal of the third period came from Ryan at 12:23 on an unassisted play and CEC then rode their defense and Beckman to the win the rest of the way.

For the game the Jacks outshot Cambridge-Isanti 32-28 as Beckman finished with 28 saves on 28 shots to notch the shutout and give the Jacks their seventh win in the last eight games.
