Hermantown Gets 5-1 Road Win Over Proctor

Jared Thomas scored a pair of power play goals and the Hermantown Hawks skated away with a 5-1 win on the road in Proctor on Tuesday night against the Rails.

Thomas scored a power play tally at 5:57 of the first period and Billy Grillo notched another goal at 12:19 with Jared Kolquist assisting giving the Hawks a 2-0 first period lead.

The only goal of the second period was a Thomas power play marker at 16:09 with Garrett Skrbich assisting. The second period was a penalty filled affair with each team spending some time a man short. Hermantown took four penalties in the period, while the Rails had two penalties.

At 4:45 of the third period it was Jesse Dyson giving the Hawks a 4-0 lead with Brian LeBlanc adding the assist, but just two minutes later the Rails cut the lead to three when Jesse Scanlon found the back of the net. LeBlanc ended the scoring at 14:18 of the final period with Chris Benson and Matt Lord adding assists.

The third period saw the Rails take four penalties and the Hawks take two penalties. For the game Proctor ended up with eight penalties and Hermantown had six. The Hawks went 2-for-6 on the power play and the Rails were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Proctor goalie Brody Morin finished with 33 saves on 38 shots, while Connor Lucas finished with 18 saves on 19 shots for the Hawks.
