Reilly Fawcett scored the hat trick and the Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall girls hockey team routed the Superior Spartans 7-0 in girls hockey on Thursday night.

PHM made things look easy, especially in the first period, when they dominated the Spartans to the tune of a 16-2 shot advantage and a 4-0 lead. Fawcett scored twice in the period with Justina Larson and Hannah Johnson also adding scores.

The Mirage added 13 more shots in the second stanza to hold a 29-8 edge in that department after two periods of play. PHM also added another goal in the period when Emma Stauber, who finished with a goal and two assists, rifled home a shot at 10:40 to make it 5-0.

Third period action saw the game go into running time at 9:42 when Sam Nelson scored for a 6-0 lead. The scoring ended when Fawcett wrapped up the hat trick with a power play tally at 11:49.

For the game the Mirage outshot the Spartans 40-12 with Kylie Hommerding picking up the shutout in nets for PHM. Sarah Runser finished with 33 saves on 40 shots for Superior.
