Cloquet Girls Golf Competes In Lake Superior Meet

The Cloquet girls’ golf team competed in the Lake Superior meet and saw their team scores improve by nineteen strokes in the six-team meet. The Lumberjacks great improvement allowed them to take a firm hold on third place in the conference standing.

In the team event, it was Hermantown finishing in first with a score of 177 and Duluth Marshall second with a total of 192. The Lumberjacks finished third with a 233 and Proctor was fourth at 251. Duluth Denfeld and Duluth Central did not have enough golfers to post a team score.


The overall team standings are as follows:
Hermantown in first with a 375 total, Duluth Marshall second with a 416, Cloquet third with a 485, and the Proctor fourth in the team standing with a score of 524.


In individual action, Haley Wolfe of Hermantown was the medalist. Wolfe shot a round of 38. Meghan Whittaker of Duluth Marshall was second with a 42 and her team mate Elke Wood was third with a 44. Calie Wilson of Hermantown was fourth with a 45 and Krista Anderson of Hermantown and Emma Stauber of Marshal tied for fifth as they both shot 46.


Cloquet’s Jessica Randall finished in eighth place as she shot a round of 51. Other Lumberjack golfers included Rebecca Zeadow who shot a 57, Laura Bakken fired a 61, Sydnee Ericson shot 64, as those four compiled the team total. Jessica Branning and Ines Horvathova also shot in the tournament for Cloquet.
