Lumberjack Boys Golf Team Shoots Well at Nemadji

The Cloquet boys golf team played very well in last week’s Lake Superior meet at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior, Wisconsin. The Jacks would better their previous team total by twelve strokes, finishing fifth in second Lake Superior meet.

The Hermantown Hawks won the first two meets in this four-meet match among the conference teams. The Hawks won team honors by shooting 147. Denfeld was second with a 154, Duluth Central was third as they shot 155, Superior was fourth with a 156, Cloquet was fifth with a 160, Ashland & Duluth Marshall tied for sixth with a 174, and Proctor finished eighth with a 198.

The overall team standings have Hermantown at number one with a 305 overall, Denfeld second with a 319, Superior third 321, Duluth Central 324 is fourth, Cloquet is fifth at 332, Duluth Marshall is sixth at 343, seventh is Ashland with 346 and Proctor is eighth with a 384.

In individual action, it was Ben Wrazidlo from Duluth Central
as the medalist as he shot a 34. Hermantown’s Alex Kolquist was second with a 35, Cloquet‘s Andrew Castle tied for third place when he and Andrew Oakes from Hermantown along with Ryan Stupka of Denfeld all shot a 36. There were five golfers tied at sixth place with a 38.

Other Cloquet golfers include
Danny Nelson and Derek Schrecengost who both shot 41 for the Lumberjacks. Jack McFarlane and Ryan Korby both shot 42 and Karl Palmquist finished with a 46.
