MLA Boys Win 5th Straight Game

A strong first two periods against Pine City-Rush City on Tuesday night, was enough to give the Moose Lake Area boys hockey team their fifth straight win. The Rebels slipped by the Dragons 6-4.

Zach Cisar scored 7:48 into the first period with Tyler Cisar assisting giving the Rebels a 1-0 lead. Later in the period it was a power play goal by Josh Cisar with Zack Cisar assisting the Rebels held a 2-0 edge after one period of play.

The Rebels kicked the lead up to 3-0 when Josh Cisar scored at 3:35 of the second period with Tyler Cisar assisting. It went to 4-0 at the 8:59 mark when Tyler Cisar marked his second goal of the game with the assist to Josh Cisar. Just 43 seconds later the Rebels went ahead 5-0 when Andrew Norby scored an unassisted goal. The Dragons did manage a late period goal by Kyle Ripp on the power play the cut the lead back down to 5-1.

Jordan Pangerl notched a shorthanded goal early in the third period for the Dragons to get them within 5-2, but that was answered quickly by Zack Cisar and the lead was back to 6-2 for MLA. The Dragons did manage a pair of late third period goals, but by then it was already over and the Rebels had pulled out their fifth straight win and had run their record to 8-3 on the season.

For the game the Rebels outshot the Dragons 31-25 as Austin Lanoue finished with 24 saves for MLA.
