The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels have scored 111 runs in eleven games so far this season for a remarkable ten plus runs per game. Head coach Lyle Halverson knew his team had a potent punch, but even he is surprised at how well the Rebels have come out this season. The Rebels downed the Aitkin Gobblers 16-8 on Friday night in the Hinckley-Finlayson tournament.

“I was really happy with how we hit the ball tonight,” Halverson told Northland Sports Online. “We capitalized every chance we had and we put some numbers up.” Halverson also mentioned, “Aitkin is a good team. They are over .500 on the season and they have some great athletes.”

Offensively, the Rebels were led by Rajean Carlson who was 4-5, with four runs scored. He also added 3 RBIs. Spencer Clough was 4-4 with 3 RBIs.
Dan Anderson was 3-5 with a double, a home run and 3 RBIs.
Joey Bohaty was 2-4, scoring 2 runs and adding 4 RBIs.

The Rebels improve their record to 9-2 on the season. Saturday they will face Hinckley-Finlayson and Crosby Ironton in the Hinckley- Finlayson tournament. Aitkin falls to 7-6 on the season.
