The Carlton Bulldogs traveled to Chisholm on Friday to take on the pesky Chisholm Bluestreaks team. The Bulldogs were looking to rebound on Friday coming off a loss to Silver Bay, but that would not happen as the Bluestreaks downed Carlton by a score of 10-3.

“We ran into another great team,” head coach Scott Battaglia told Northland Sports Online. “They are a good team with many great players…Chisholm came out and scored right away and put us in a hole trying to get back into the game,” Coach Battaglia stated.

“Spencer Peratalo did a great job for them today,” Battaglia said. Peratalo was the winning pitcher for the Bluestreaks. “We hit the ball hard but it was right at them.” Zach Anderson finished 2-3 for the Bulldogs and he also scored a run. Jordan Thompson was 1-3 with two runs batted in. Joey Broneak and Calvin Wolf also had a hit each for Carlton.

The Bulldogs, with that loss, fall to 9-7 on the season and will be in action again next Wednesday as they travel to Cherry to take on the Tigers. Chisholm improves to 10-3 on the season and will be in action again next Thursday when they host Northland. The Bulldogs will have a nice break as this Bulldog team has played 13 games in 19 days, so a few extra days off will give some arms a rest.
