Rails – Oredockers top LSC

It was the Proctor Rails and the Ashland Oredockers capturing championships in the Lake Superior Conference Cross Country Meets in Ashland on Thursday afternoon.
The Oredockers won the girls title with 60 points. Superior placed second with 70, followed by Proctor (73), Cloquet (79), Duluth Denfeld (118), Hermantown (131) and Duluth Marshall (145).
Proctor won the boys title with 57. Cloquet finished second with 59, and Ashland had 60. Duluth Denfeld placed fourth with 99, followed by Hermantown (106), Duluth Marshall (133) and Superior (146).
Cloquet’s Anja Maijala won the race in a time of 15:10.2. Proctor’s Annika Voss and Hannah Bettendorf were 2nd and 3rd. Fourth place went to Riley Pohl of Denfeld, Marshall’s Ashlee Siegle was 5th, Sophie Mattson was 6th, and Kelley Lorenz finished 7th for the Lumberjacks.
The top seven finishers earned all-conference status.
Isaac Boedigheimer of Cloquet won the boys race in 16:12.8, and Ashland’s Walker Miller took second. Pennti Halon was 3rd. Ashland landed two more runners in the top seven with Maury Miller placing 4th & Nathan Krueger 7th, while it was Ryan Kero of Hermantown 5th, and Jacob Welch of Proctor 6th.
