CEC Throttles Ashland 11-1

Nolan Meyer continued his torrid scoring streak and the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjack boys hockey team throttled Ashland 11-1 on Tuesday night. Meyer, scored four straight goals in the third period, finished with five goals and two assists for a seven point night in the win.

Beau Michaud, Meyer and Ben Michaud all scored in the first period to give CEC a 3-0 lead. In the second period it was Tanner Robideaux, Adam Hanson and Drew Dincau scoring for the Jacks, while Ashland’s Cody Turgeon added a tally for the Oredockers to make it 6-1 in favor of CEC after two periods of play.

CEC scored three power play goals in the final period starting with Chaise Jokinen’s marker at 1:20. Following Jokinen’s goal it was Meyer scoring four straight goals at; 4:29, 9:18, 11:39 and at 15:56 to make it a five-goal night.

Ben Michaud also had a stellar game for CEC by scoring a goal and notching five assists.
