The Cromwell Cardinals girls basketball team evened their season record Monday as the Cardinals defeated the Carlton Bulldogs by a score of 52-41. The Cardinals took a early first half lead and went on to win by eleven points. Cromwell led at halftime by a score of 26-14. Carlton outscored the Cardinals in the second half but it was not enough.


The Cardinals were led Marlene Wester, who scored a team high 17 points in the win. Teammate Allie Cahoon had 15 points, Emily Hendrickson added 8, Lisa Peterson scored 7, Kayle Johnson chipped in with 4, and Ann Collman rounded out the Cardinal scoring with 1 point on the night.


The Bulldogs were led by Clarissa Nelson who finished with 18 points leading all scorers in the loss. Brooke Camps contributed 9 points, Alanna Groth ended with 6, Cedar Savage notched 4 points, Lindsey Dahl-Holm and Christy Eggert each ended with 2 points in the loss.

he loss for Carlton drops their overall record to 1-5 including five straight losses. The loss also drops the Bulldogs to 0-3 in conference play. The Bulldogs are off until December 28th, when the will play in the Proctor Holiday Tournament.


The Cromwell Cardinals improve to 3-3 on the season with the big conference win at home. The victory also evens their conference record at 1-1 overall. The Cardinals will be playing in a Holiday Tournament at Ogilvie, starting on Tuesday December 28th.
