NSO-NEWS RELEASE

The University of Minnesota Duluth’s annual Military Appreciation Day — expanded for 2014 —  will be held this Saturday (Oct. 4) when the Bulldogs and Minnesota State University-Moorhead collide in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference football clash.

UMD is partnering with local military organizations, including the 148th Fighter Wing, that day to raise money and awareness for Operation One Voice. Operation One Voice is a program designed by police officers, firefighters and community leaders to generate funds to help support the immediate needs of children and families of wounded and fallen Special Operations Forces

Tickets to the game, which kicks off at 6:05 p.m. at James S. Malosky Stadium, are free to all current and former members of the military (with an ID) and just $5.00 for military spouses and children. Ticket information can be found here. In honor of the servicemen and women of the Armed Forces, Bulldog players will wear camo One Voice jerseys that night and those will be auctioned on-line at auction.umdbulldogs.com through Oct. 5. In addition, UMD has a number of tributes planned for military personnel throughout the game, and wil conduct a free football clinic for all youths in grades 3-8 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the UMD rec. fields. All those wishing to attend are asked to preregister here.
