Swimmer’s Set Record

Four Cloquet-Esko-Carlton swimmers, and two Greyhound swimmers set  pool records Tuesday afternoon in Cloquet. It was a foursome for the Lumberjacks as they set a record for the 200 meter freestyle. Makayla Suominen, Faith Carlson, Rachel Gorski, and Lexus Wysocki set the new record in the relay, and the same foursome won the 400 meter freestyle relay later in the meet.

The Greyhounds were not going to be outdone either as they had two swimmers also set pool records, Kelly Punyko bested the pool record in the 100 yard Backstroke, and Megan Zwak set the pool record in the 100 meter breaststroke.

Besides the pool records in a very close meet is was East winning by six points over the Lumberjacks by a score of 50-44. The Greyhounds will be in action on Saturday afternoon in part of the Greyhound Invitational.

The Lumberjacks will host a dual meet with Superior on Thursday afternoon.

100 backstroke — Punyko, DE, 1:04.16 (pool record);

100 breaststroke — Meghan Zwak, DE, 1:14.67 (pool record);

400 freestyle relay — CEC (Suominen, Gorski, Carlson, Wysocki), 4:02.69.
