Esko To Host 31st Annual Coaches Classic

Esko High School will host the 31st annual Coaches Classic Tournament! This tournament is held each year in honor of the late Jack Johnson, a former Esko teacher and coach. This year’s tournament will feature some of the best girls basketball teams the local area has to offer.

Local teams from Esko, Floodwood, and Hermantown will be joined by Warroad; a team from the far reaches northeastern Minnesota. Runner-Up and Championship trophies as well as All-Tournament Team and Tournament MVP awards will be given out at the conclusion of the Tournament.

The tourney kicks off at 6:00pm on Friday when Hermantown faces off against Floodwood. Host Esko will take on Warroad in the nightcap at 7:30pm. Saturday action will pit the first round losers against each other at 4:00pm with the championship game slated to take place at 5:50pm. The weekend festivities feature a JV tournament taking place at Esko also.
