Saint Women Finish 10th

MINNEAPOLIS (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women’s cross country team finished 10th overall out of 20 teams Saturday morning at the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Sophomore Taylor Gibson (La Crescent, Minn./La Crescent HS) led CSS finishing 45th overall with a time of 24:59.75. Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was the next Saint to cross with a time of 25:09.45 and 52nd overall.

Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) and Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) were the next to cross for St. Scholastica finishing in 65th and 91st place with times of 25:22.75 and 26:07.80. Senior Izzy Plantenberg (Avon, Minn./Albany HS) was the last Saint to score finishing 116th overall with a time of 26:37.20.

As the team the Saints finished with 280 points. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse won the Griak Invitational with 60 points behind three top-10 finishes including the top time of 22.39.9 by Laura Mead. The University of St. Thomas and St. Olaf College rounded out the top three with 69 and 76 points respectively.

Next Friday the Saints travel to Eau Claire, Wisconsin for the Blugold Invitational with a 4 p.m. start time.
