Esko Boys Basketball Head Coach Mike Devney notched his 300th career win Tuesday night as the Esko Eskomos defeated the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers 57-29 in this sectional match-up. The Eskomos with a ten point half time lead broke open the game in the second half to knock off the Toppers at Marshall High School.

The Eskomos started off slow Tuesday, shooting 30% in the first half, but warmed up quickly as they shot 57% from the floor in the second half and rolled to the win. With the win the Eskomos gave coach Devney that elusive 300th win as he joins a who’s who of coaches with that many career wins.

Devney reached 299 wins on Monday night with a 59-43 victory over Cook County up in Grand Marais. The Eskomos are off to another fast start this season, and are hoping to make a run at the section and Polar League championship.

Jackson Lindquist hit three 3-points and scored 17 points to pace the Eskomos, Jake Stainbrook added 15 points in the win. He was followed by Adam Eskuri with 7, Marc Peterson finished with 5, Andrew Wendland and Jared Harris each added 4 points, Riley Mudek closed with 3, and Bobby Wright finished with 2.

The Eskomos improve to 4-0 on the season and will be in action again on Monday when they host Deer River. The Eskomos will close out their pre holiday break schedule with a tough game on Tuesday when the Eskomos will host Duluth Central at Esko High School.
