Duluth East had a little too much depth, and a little too much firepower for Esko to handle on Monday afternoon as the Greyhounds came away with a 5-2 girls soccer victory in Esko.

The Greyhounds notched two goals in the first half from Emma Spooner and Annie Reichoff in pulling out to a 2-0 halftime edge.

McKenzie Nelson put the Greyhounds up 3-0 one minute into the second half to make it 3-0. Jordan Saline cut the lead six minutes later to 3-1 on an assist from Lexie Smalley, but East answered with another goal from Abby Bosell just two minutes later.

Ellie Emanuel gave Esko hope in the 59th minute, but East’s Reichoff ended hopes of a comeback by the Eskomos with a goal in the 71st minute.

For the game the Eskomos got eight saves on 12 shots from Macy Sunnarborg, while the Eskomos put nine shots on the East goal.
