Proctor Hockey Overpowers Two Harbors 15-1

The Proctor Rails had an offensive explosion in their first game of the season on Tuesday night. The Rails pounded the Two Harbors Agates 15-1 as nearly every player on the Proctor roster found a way to get on the score sheet.

Justin Scanlon started the scoring for the Rails with a shorthanded goal just 17 seconds into the game and that was followed by a Frank Katzmarek tally at 2:35 on the power play. The Agates cut the lead to 2-1 at 3:05 when Ben Ruberg notched a shorthanded goal, but that would be the last goal Two Harbors would score. Cody Gauthier, Patrick Everson, Ian Ecklund and Tyler Pionk all added goals for Proctor before the end of the period.

In the second period the Rails reeled of seven straight goals from; Griffin Swanson, Billy Ciesielski, Jeremy Lopez, Everson, Lopez again, Katzmarek on the power play and Swanson again as they took a 13-1 lead entering the final period.

Lopez and Pionk scored in the final period for the Rails who outshot the Agates 32-8 for the game.

Mickey Smith made 17 saves on 32 shots for Two Harbors, while Proctor goalie Brody Morin made seven saves on eight shots.
