The Clydesdales mounted another comeback, but yet again fell short at the final buzzer. A four goal second period proved too much to overcome as Fort Frances defeated Duluth 6-4 Sunday night in junior hockey action at the Heritage Center.

After scoring the first marker of the game on a Matt Jerulle unassisted goal at 12:59 of the first, the Clydesdales allowed five straight goals to the visiting Lakers. Jon Sinclair and Ryan Wildman netted two each and Jaret Leclair got another for the Lakers to put them ahead 5-1 after two period.

Clydesdales captain Joe Nelson provided a surge to the 321 in attendance, scoring a pair in the first two minutes of the third, but Connor Hady jumped out of the box and went down for a breakaway shorthanded goal to push it to 6-3. Casey Eckman fired a slapper in from the blue line with just :03 on the clock to bring it within two, but it was too little, too late as Duluth fell under .500 to 4-5-2 at home and 6-16-2 overall.

Shots were even on the night, with Tyler Ampe saving 32 of 36 for the win and Jeff Dunaisky kicking out 30 of 36 in the loss. Duluth next plays the Wisconsin Wilderness this coming Saturday from Spooner.
