The University of Minnesota Duluth remains third in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll released Monday afternoon. The top five schools in the poll remained in tact from the preseason rankings.

Opening the season with a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Keweenaw Classic that included dominating victories over Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech on Saturday, UMD’s schedule only gets tougher as the Bulldogs travel to the Colorado Premier Challenge hosted by Metro State University of Denver and Regis (Colo.) University this weekend. In addition to the hosts, UMD will take on the No. 2 and No. 4 ranked teams in the country in the Univeristy of Tampa (Saturday, 9:30 a.m. MST) and Brigham Young University-Hawaii (Friday, 5:00 p.m. MST).

Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) rival Concordia University, St. Paul continues to hold the No. 1 spot after a 4-0 weekend. Southwest Minnesota State University falls three spots to No. 10 after dropping matches to Concordia and Wheeling Jesuit. No. 21 Northern State University holds steady, while No. 19 Wayne State (Neb.) College moves up one spot despite falling to unranked Northwest Nazarene University. No. 23 Augustana (S.D.) College moves into the Top 25 after knocking off a pair of ranked foes last weekend.

UMD, Concordia, Winona State University, and the University of Minnesota-Crookston all started the season perfect through four matches this past weekend. The Bulldogs will look to continue their winning streak starting Friday at 12:00 p.m. MST against Regis.
