CEC Nets 3-1 Road Win

Alyssa Acheson made 24 saves and the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girl’s hockey team fired home three goals in notching a 3-1 road win over Chisago Lakes Area in Lindstrom, Minnesota on Tuesday night.

While Acheson was facing 25 shots the Lumberjacks were putting 29 shots of their own on Chisago netminder Jamie Dobosenski who recorded 26 saves in the loss.

The Jacks got on the board in the first period when Callie Halverson scored at the 7:11 mark with Mackenzie Roy picking up the assist and CEC led it 1-0 after a period.

CLA tied the score in the second period at 9:09 on a goal by Megan Lushanko with a shorthanded tally, but the Jacks bounced back before the period ended with a goal by Rachel Macaulay and an assist to Kristi Konietzko at 14:15 as CEC led it 2-1 after the second stanza.

The Lumberjacks final goal came just 2:32 into the third period when Emily Gustafson converted with assists to Kalie Shevich and Caitlyn Lilly.


The Jacks will be back in action on Tuesday when they hit the road for their fourth straight road game, taking on Grand Rapids-Greenway.
