Hermantown Shuts Out Cloquet

The Hermantown Hawks girls soccer team has been on a roll to kick off this season, and they continued that by rolling over the Cloquet-Carlton Lumberjacks, 4-0.

The scoring got started in just the 2nd minute as Alyssa Siljendahl found the back of the net on a pass from Sophie McGovern. Just 8 minutes later, Kianna Hren scored Hermantowns 2nd goal with Laura Lenard getting the assist. Callie Hoff would tack on the 3rd goal in the first half for the Hawks, scoring unassisted in the 33rd minute.

The game would stay 3-0 in favor of Hermantown until the 66th minute when Maddy Danelski scored off an assist from Mariah Kratt to secure the 4-0 shutout win for the Hawks.

Delaney Vavra made 3 saves for the Hawks, while Cloquet-Carlton’s Alissa Chalberg was busy in the net, stopping 10 shots in the loss.

Hermantown now improves to 4-1 on the season and will play Hibbing/Chisholm on September 6th. The Lumberjacks drop to 1-3 on the year and travel to Princeton on the 6th.
