The Section 7AA girls volleyball team has now moved into the semi final round after Friday night’s set of games. Moving on to final four action are; Cloquet, Hermantown, Esko and Hibbing, all of whom were the highest seeds in their respective quarter final games.

Esko led the charge into the next round with an easy 25-10, 25-8 and 25-14 stomping of the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers in a match played in Hermantown.
Lydia Pelletier led the Eskomos with 9 kills.
Keely Deadrick added 24 set assists in the 3-0 win.

The other match in Hermantown saw Hibbing dispatch Greenway 25-21, 25-23 and 25-18.

Over in Esko the Cloquet Lumberjacks needed four games, but eventually defeated Crosby-Ironton 25-15, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-23.
Leading the Lumberjacks was Katie Schulz with 13 kills and 9 digs while Alex Oakes contributed 14 digs to go with her 28 set assists.

The toughest match of the night was a tight win by Hermantown over International Falls 3-2. Hermantown lost the first two games of the match before soaring back to take the win. The Hawks won by scores of 23-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-22 and 16-14.

Semi-final action will take place on Wednesday at UMD. Volleyball
fans should be in for some great action
with Hibbing taking on Esko and Cloquet facing Hermantown.
