BARNUM- On a night more conducive for Santa Claus than football, the Barnum Bombers braved the elements and ran through the Carlton Bulldogs Tuesday night as the Bombers won 48-0 to advance to the section 7A Semi-Finals.

Barnum scored on their fourth play from scrimmage as Josh Hogan turned in a 43 yard touchdown run. He added the two point conversion and Barnum led 8-0 early in the first quarter. Carlton took their first possession and, on a fourth and twelve from their own 40 yard line, the Bulldogs tried a fake punt and the run came up short.

The Bombers took advantage of good field position and scored when Wyatt Frinifrock scampered in from 15 yards out. Hogan ran in the two point conversion and Barnum led 14-0. Hogan added his second touchdown of the game to close out the first half, scoring on a 42 yard run, the two point conversion failed and it was 22-0 Barnum.

Barnum capitalized on four turnovers in the second quarter by the Bulldogs which all led to Barnum touchdowns. Josh Hogan scored his third touchdown of the game on a 21 yard run to open up the second quarter scoring, the two point conversion was no good and Barnum led 34-0. An interception return for a touchdown by Frinifrock and a pair of 15 yard touchdown runs by Jacob Blumer put Barnum ahead 48-0 at the break.

The game ended with the 48-0 score when the Bulldogs chose to not participate in the second half.

With the win the Bombers advance to the section semi-finals against the Chisholm Blue Streaks, who advanced by defeating Ely earlier Tuesday afternoon. The game will be played at Barnum high school and broadcast on 96.5 fm. Barnum defeated Chisholm earlier this season with a 16-6 win at home.
