CEC Tennis Wraps Up Successful Season

The high school tennis season officially ended for the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls on Thursday after the lone representatives for the Jacks fell in playoff action.

In singles play the Jacks #1 player, Kelsey Collier won her opening round match by beating Anna Fry of Duluth Central 6-0, 6-1. Collier then dropped a 6-0, 6-2 match to Emily Milani of Hibbing to be eliminated.

Cloquet’s #2 singles player, Savanna Ellena, lost in her first round match against Caroline Skinner of Duluth East 1-6, 6-0, 6-0.

The Cloquet doubles team of Katie Shevich and Asha Fritsinger pulled out a first round win by beating Fonta Zimm and Erya Mlodzyniec of Duluth Central 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 before falling in the second round to a team from Grand Rapids/Greenway.

Reilly Kedrowski and Michaela Houser of CEC lost in the first round of doubles 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to Jo Carlson and Isabelle Daugherty of Hermantown.

All games were played at the Hibbing tennis courts.
