The Carlton boys baseball team continues to show its improvements this season. Monday afternoon, the Bulldogs won their eighth game of the season by a score of 9-2 over the AlBrook Falcons. The Bulldogs second win in a row gives them a great start to their four-game week.

The Bulldogs used timely hitting and capitalized on some AlBrook miscues, winning the game by seven runs. “We played pretty good today,” head coach Scott Battaglia told Northland Sports Online. Battaglia also stated, “We came up with timely hits and we got a great game from Caleb Hatfield.”

“Hatfield threw strikes for us.” Battaglia mentioned. Hatfield was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs. Offensively, Adam Schmitz was 2-3 with a run scored and two runs batted in. Joey Broneak continues with his hot hitting for Carlton, going 2-3 with two doubles, and Calvin Wolf was 2-3 with a double and a run batted in.

The Bulldogs now improve to 8-5 on the season and they will be in action Tuesday at home, hosting the Cromwell Cardinals at Chub Lake Park. The AlBrook Falcons fall to 3-6 overall on the season and will play at Floodwood on Tuesday.
