Turner Throws No-No For East

Duluth Easts Senior Ace, Jake Turner, threw a no-hitter for his ball club on Saturday afternoon in the first game of a double header against Duluth Denfeld. East would win game 1, 10-0 in 5 innings but would fall in the second game 2-1.

Turner would record the win for the Hounds, going 5 innings, striking out 3 and walking 1 while not surrendering a hit. Turner also went 2-3 with 3 RBI’s on the offensive side of the ball. Wes Anderson went 2-3, Adam Sauve had a double that drove in 2 and Chris Olson went 2-3 in the victory.

In the second game, Denfeld manage to squeak out the victory 2-1. Jared Goad recorded the win, pitching 2/3rds of an inning. The offense for Denfeld was powered by Ryan Potswald who went 2-3 with a run scored and Nick Thompson who went 1-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Trever Laakso got the loss in the game for the Greyhounds, pitching 6.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits and striking out 6. Wes Anderson went 1-3 with a double and an RBI in the loss.

Duluth East is now 7-3 on the year and will play the Cloquet Lumberjacks on the road in a double header on May 13th. Duluth Denfeld is now 1-8 on the season and will battle with the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers on May 12th.
