Northland Sports Online volleyball recap for Tuesday Sept 21.

Carlton 3 Cook County 1

In a battle of two teams that had not lost in conference play it was the Carlton Bulldogs coming away with the big win Tuesday in Grand Marais. The Bulldogs Marita Yellowhammer, and Clarissa Nelson had 9 and 8 kills respectively, and Amanda Eggert finished with 32 set assists.

Esko 3 Floodwood 0


The Esko Eskomos swept the Floodwood Polar Bears Tuesday with a big win on the road in Floodwood. The Eskomos are still undefeated on the season with an overall 10-0 record. Stephanie Bandelin had 9 kills, and Keely Deadrick added 19 assists in the win.

ML-WR 3 Two Harbors 1

The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels picked up their second straight win after the Rebels had dropped eight straight matches. Maddy Adamczak finished with 29 set assists for the Rebels. Sheenagh Caroline added 11 kills and 9 digs on the night.

McGregor 3 Wrenshall 0


The McGregor Mercuries swept the Wrenshall Wrens Tuesday night at Wrenshall High School to keep the Wrens winless on the season. The Mercuries pick up their third win overall, and it was their second in Polar League Conference play. Maria Burcar led Wrenshall with 8 kills.

Barnum 3 Cromwell 1


After dropping the first game of the match, the Bombers bounced back and won three straight as they even their overall record to 5-5 on the season. Jessica Newman had 14 kills and 13 digs on the night for Barnum. Lisa Peterson was 14-14 serving for Cromwell.

Duluth East 3 Proctor 0


The Duluth East Greyhounds shut out the Proctor Rails in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night at Duluth East High School. The win moves the Greyhounds to 7-3 overall on the season while the Rails fall to 1-5 on the season.
