CEC Tops Marshall In Tennis

The CEC Lumberjacks and Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers matched up on the tennis courts on Monday evening, with the Lumberjacks coming out on top winning 4 matches and losing 3.

In singles, Duluth Marshall’s Jack Dodd defeated Christian Pritchett 6-1 and 6-4. CEC’s Rob Sobczak would equal it up for the Lumberjacks as he topped Max Bartell 6-4 and 6-0. CEC would continue to roll as Joey Gotchnik topped Dave Goltz in 3 sets, dropping the first one 3-6 and bouncing back and winning the next 2 6-4 and 7-6. Yusuf Khwaja equalled up the singles for Marshall as he defeated Anders Pertler 6-1 and 6-3.

In doubles action, Ryan Willoghs and Ryan Lind for CEC defeated Jack Kronzer and Luke Dow 6-2 and 7-5. CEC would tally another doubles win as Tim Paczinski and Ben Tomhave won in 3 sets 6-2, 0-6, and 6-4 over Kyle McKinzie and Mark Skramstad. Duluth Marshall won the final match of the day as JB Stender and Kyle Gonder defeated Josh Kieth and Peter Tomhave in 2 sets, 6-2 and 6-3.

On the overall day, the CEC Lumberjacks came out with the win, winning 4 matches to 3.
