Duluth East Wins 2 In Doubleheader

On Saturday, the Duluth East Greyhounds participated in a doubleheader against North Branch and Andover. The Greyhounds would win both, topping North Branch in 6 innings, 13-3 and beating Andover in a close 3-1 game.

In game one, Chris Olson got the win, going 6 innings only allowing 2 hits and racking up 7 K’s. The offense was led by Nathaniel Benson who went 3-4 with a double and tallied 4 RBI’s. Olson got his hand in on the offensive side as well, going 2-3 and scoring 2 runs, and Nick Andersen went 2-4 and scored twice.

In the second game against Andover, Jake Turner got the victory going 7 strong, allowing 2 hits, and striking out 4. Chris Olson powered the offense with a double and 2 runners batter in. Wes Anderson tallied the other RBI while going 2-3.

The Duluth East Greyhounds are now 5-2 on the season and will play the Hermantown Hawks on the road on May 8th.
