Mora stops Rails

MORA– The Mustangs scored six runs in the sixth inning to expand their 5-4 lead, as Mora went on to an 11-4 win Saturday afternoon in Mora.

Greg Chmeil was 3-for-3 with two home runs, three runs, and four RBIs to lead Mora. Mora’s Austin Peterson was 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs and Bryce Norby was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Sam Johnson allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk in a complete game. He had nine strikeouts.

Evan Scherber was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Proctor (1-1).

Brandt Forstrom was the losing pitcher. He allowed four runs on three hits and three walks in three-and-one-third innings. Forstrom had four strikeouts.

Proctor is at Virginia on Monday.
