Lady Bulldogs Sweep Double Header

A trip down to Fridley for the Carlton Bulldogs ended in a nice ride home after they beat the Floodwood Polar Bears 4-0 and the Cook County Vikings 11-0.

They squared off with the Polar Bears in their first game of the day. Carlton held a narrow 1-0 lead until the 6th inning where they scored one more and then they added 2 more in the 7th to secure the 4-0 victory.

The winning pitcher for the Bulldogs was Grace Macor who went 7 innings, struck out 10 and allowed zero earned runs. The Bulldogs offense was propelled by Myranda Papesh who went 1-1, drew 2 walks, had an RBI and scored one run. Also pitching in was Hannah Benson who scored 2 key runs for the Bulldogs in the win.

In the second game of the day, the Bulldogs toppled the Cook County Vikings 11-0. Grace Macor was the winning pitcher, pitching 5 innings, striking out 11, walking one and allowing 1 hit. The offense for the Bulldogs was led by patience at the plate as they took 8 walks in the game. Myranda Papesh scored 3 runs in the game and went 1-1  with 1 RBI.

The Bulldogs improve to 4-0 on the year now and look to play the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks on the road on April 28th.
