Deadrick Becomes UWS All Time Wins Leader

SUPERIOR, WIS.: University of Wisconsin-Superior Head Volleyball Coach Lynne Deadrick became the school’s all-time leader in wins with a pair of victories in the Stinger Classic at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium on Friday, September 10.


Deadrick entered the season with a record of 102-131 at UW-Superior. On Friday, the Yellowjackets defeated Finlandia University 3-0 in the first match of the Stinger Classic. Later in the evening, they defeated Hamline University 3-1, pushing their record to 3-7 on the year and giving Deadrick the 105th victory of her career. She passes Marcia Engebretson’s 104 wins. Engebretson was the coach of the Yellowjackets from 1991-1996 and had a career mark of 104-89.


Deadrick, an Esko resident is in her seventh season as head volleyball coach at UWS.


“On behalf of our department and our university, I extend my congratulations to Lynne for reaching this milestone,” UW-Superior Athletic Director Steve Nelson said. “We wish Lynne success and hope that there are many more wins to come in her tenure at UW-Superior.”
