Lady Bulldogs Pick Up Two More Wins

The Lady Bulldog softball team picked up wins on Friday and Saturday, extending their win streak to five games.

On Friday, Carlton hosted Ely and won by a score of 9-2. Mia Saunders pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits while striking out three over seven innings for the victory.

Melissa Clark and Christy Eggert provided the offense for the Bulldogs. Clark went 3-4 with a triple and had 2 RBIs; Eggert was also 3-4 with a triple.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs traveled to Hill City and left town with their fifth straight win, topping the Hornets by a convincing score of 17-3 in six innings.

Once again, Saunders picked up the win, striking out six while allowing four hits over six innings. Clark helped her own cause by going 4-5 at the plate with a triple and 2 RBIs.

Others joining the hit parade were Melissa Clark, Megan Nelson, and Amanda Eggert. Clark was 4-5 with three stolen bases. Nelson went
3-4 with a double and a triple, which produced 3 RBIs and Eggert with a triple.

Carlton is now an impressive 7-4 on the season under first year head coach Brooke Lee. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday when they host AlBrook at Chub Lake Park.
