HERMANTOWN – The Cloquet girls soccer team rebounded from an early goal to take a 3-1 win over Hermantown on Thursday night as Kenzie Rathe finished with 10 saves on 11 shots for the Jacks.

The Lumberjacks responded quickly and in numbers by scoring three goals in the first half to take the lead. Carri Zeadow took a Jessie Ryan feed at 28:00 to tie the game and less than minute later at 28:20 it was Ryan hitting the same spot of the net on a pass from Kelsey Anderson to give the Jacks a 2-1 lead. Sadie Micke rounded out the scoring with 21 seconds left in the half with Ryan assisting to wrap up the scoring.

Both teams had a plenty of shots on net with Hermantown goalie, Alexa Peterson finishing with 10 saves on 13 shots.

The win is Cloquet’s first on the season. The Jacks will try to make it two in a row when they travel to Princeton on Saturday. Hermantown is now a well rounded 2-2-2 on the season. They will host Hibbing/Chisholm at 11:00am on Saturday.
