Barnum Downs Cromwell in Boys Baseball

The Barnum Bombers were looking to get above five hundred for only the second time this season
when they played the Cromwell Cardinals on Saturday. The Bombers won their opening game of the season against Cromwell, shutting out the Cardinals in the first game. On Saturday, it was Barnum winning again, this time with a score of 17-6.

The Bombers had their hitting shoes on, pounding out
17 hits in the game and winning by
a total of 11 runs. “We played a great game,” head coach Dave Duesler told Northland Sports Online. “We hit the ball and we came through when we had runners on base.”

Cody Hagenbeck was the winning pitcher for the Bombers, pitching six quality innings Hagenbeck gave up five hits, walked three and had eight strikeouts. He gave up six runs, four of which were earned.

Offensively, Kyle Duesler was 3-6 with a double and 4 RBIs. Erick Johnson was 3-5, Alex Hassett was 2-3 with a RBI, Frankie Barrios was 2-3 with an RBI and Bryce Hebert was 2-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Barnum is now 5-4 on the season and will play at Silver Bay on Tuesday afternoon. Cromwell
becomes 0-6 on the season and will travel to McGregor on Tuesday afternoon.
