The Minnesota Wilderness swept a home and home series this weekend as they have won four straight games against Coulee Region in a Midwest Division match-up.

Friday night the Wilderness scored five first period goals including 2 shorthanded goals 24 seconds apart as the Wilderness picked up a 7-1 win at home on fan appreciation night.

Eric Brenk scored two goals in the first period, Jaycob McCombs and Jakob Romo scored shorthanded goals to kick off the scoring and Thomas Lindstrom added the fifth goal of the first period as the Wilderness jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first period.

Daniel Litchke and Richard Buri each scored second period goals, again in a seven second span as the Wilderness rolled to the 7-1 win. Kasimir Kaskisuo stopped 13 of the 14 shots he faced in the victory.

Saturday night the Wilderness traveled to Onalaska Wisconsin to face the Chill again and for the second consecutive night the Wilderness started fast and came away with a 5-3 win.

Darian Romanko scored the first two goals of the game, and Jakob Romo notched the third goal of the period as the Wilderness built up a 3-0 lead after one period of play.

After the Chill had closed the gap to 3-2 in the second period Jakob Romo scored his second goal of the game to put the Wilderness in front 4-2. Eric Brenk added his third goal of the weekend to make it 5-2 at the end of two periods.

The Chill added one goal midway through the third period but got no closer as the Wilderness picked up their fourth consecutive victory. Kaskisuo stopped 23-26 shots on the night for his second win of the weekend.

The Wilderness move to 35-14-9 on the season and have secured home ice in the first round of the NAHL playoffs. The Wilderness will close out their regular season next Friday & Saturday night. Friday they will face the Chill in Onalaska and on Saturday they will face the Minnesota Magicians in Richfield.
