Hermantown is coming off a dream season a year ago in boys soccer. The Hawks fought all the way to the state championship where they finished as runners-up.

With a roster chalk full of young talent along with a couple of players who helped lead the team a year ago, the Hawks showed they will be tough again this season with a 1-1 tie against Rochester Lourdes on Saturday afternoon in Hermantown.

It looked like the Hawks would come away with the win when Sean Gibbon pumped in a tally in the 74th minute to make it 1-0, but Lourdes notched a marker from Paul Convery just four minutes later in the 78th minute to tie the game.

Aaron Luhm made 11 saves on 12 shots for the Hawks, while Hermantown put seven shots on Lourdes goalie Will Elder, who stopped six shots.
