Lady Bombers Move into Section Championship

The Barnum Lady Bombers took on the International Falls Broncos on Thursday evening. The game would see the Bombers flying past the Broncos, grabbing the 62-53 victory to propel them to the 7AA championship game in their first year participating in Class AA.

The Lady Bombers snatched the 29-24 lead at the half and would continue right on that path as they outscored the Broncos 33-29 in the second half to ensure their spot in the next round.

The Lady Bombers were led by a balance attack from Cheyanne Johnson, Daron Mainville, and Emily Miletich. Johnson had a team high 15 points, followed by Mainville with 14 and Miletich with 13. Also in the win was Megan Nelson tallying 9, Lauren Hultgren pitching in 8, and Alisabeth Warpula topping it off with 3.

Maddie Filipiak led the Broncos and game with 21 points. Teagan Anderson followed her with 10 points.

The Broncos season ends with a 21-8 record. The Bombers improve to 19-8 and will battle the Esko Eskomos (24-5) in the Section 7AA championship game. The game will tip off at 7:00 PM on March 15th at UM-Duluth’s Romano Gym.
