Cromwell Falls In Semi’s

The Cromwell Cardinals played the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers on Wednesday night in the Section 7A semifinals. The Cardinals wouldn’t be able to stop the Rangers as they advanced to the finals with the 61-41 victory.

The Rangers held the 36-24 advantage at the half and never looked back, outscoring the Cardinals 25-17 in the 2nd half to ensure their spot in the championship game.

The Cardinals were led by Chelsea Swatek and Allie Cahoon. Swatek notched 13 points and Cahoon followed with 12. Bailey Gronner pitched in 8 points, Olivia Cahoon scored 3, Kelly Susa and Teana Hakamaki each scored 2, and Rachel Hutar topped it off with 1.

The Rangers were led by Chelsea Mason who had a game high 20 points. Lissy McCulloch followed with 15 and Allie Knuti hit double digits with 10 in the victory.

The Cardinals end their season with a 16-10 record. Mountain Iron-Buhl improves to 27-2 and will advance to the Section 7A finals where they will play the North Woods Grizzlies (25-2) on March 14th at UM-Duluth with a 7:00 PM tipoff
