Kory Deadrick set the tone with his stellar play and the rest of the Esko boys basketball team followed on Thursday night as the Eskomos defeated the Barnum Bomber 61-39 for the Section 7AA boys basketball title.

Esko took a 37-21 halftime lead with Deadrick dumping in 21 points by the intermission break and then the Eskomos continued to pull away to the win over Barnum.  The Bombers were moved up into Class AA from Class A a year ago and despite being the smallest school in the section they showed they can play with the bigger schools.

For the game Deadrick notched 32 points in leading his team to the win, but it was also the solid defensive effort of Jaxson Turner and Casey Staniger who also played a big role in the win.  The pair covered high-scoring Bomber Brandon Newman and held him to eight points.  On the season Newman has averaged 18 points.
