MLWR Edges Two Harbors

The MLWR Lady Rebels took on the Two Harbors Agates on Wednesday night in a Section 7AA first round match-up. The No. 3 seeded Lady Rebels edged the No. 6 seeded Agates by a score of 49-40.

The Lady Rebels held the narrow 18-17 lead at the half but would pull away in the second half, outscoring the Agates 31-23 to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.

MLWR was led by Adri Jusczak who notched 17 points in the win. Morgan Prachar followed with 10 points, Ava Szczyrbak notched 9, Kayla Radel tallied 6 points, Hannah Walker tacked on 4, Jodi Michalski notched 2, and Holly Mattison topped the evening off with 1 points.

Lane Schraufnagel led the Agates with 17 points in the loss. Ayla Lemke tacked on 9 points, followed by Briana Stuberud with 6, Allison Nowacki scored 5, Krista Keranen added 2, and Casey Cross ended the night with 1.

The Two Harbors Agates ended their season with a 12-14 record. The Lady Rebels improve to 19-7 on the season and will match up with the No. 2 seeded Barnum Bombers (17-8) on March 8th at Duluth Denfeld with a 1:00 PM tipoff.
