Esko Throttles Pine City

The Esko Eskomos opened the Section 7AA playoffs with a victory over the Pine City Dragons. The Eskomos advanced to the next round with a 66-22 victory.

The Eskomos got out to a commanding lead at the half, 42-12 and never looked back. The Dragons were outscored 24-10 in the second half and they watched the Eskomos end their season.

The Eskomos were led by Ava Gonsorowski and Judy Wagemaker, who scored 14 and 13 points respectively. Bailey Mudek, Erika Shady, Ashley Bergerson, and Hailey Salo all followed with 6 points a piece. Mandi Dincau and Jami Hansen added 4 each, Karlie Kulas scored 3, and Kailee Katt and Ashley Zezulka topped the win off with 2 a piece.

The Dragons were held without a player in double figures. Amie Yerke led the squad with 8 points. Emily Koecher followed with 4, Emily Yerke notched 3, Allison Gusk, Becca Broz, and McKenzie Kloeckl all scored 2, and Grace Langmade topped it off with 1.

The Dragons end their season with a 2-24 record. The No. 1 seeded Eskomos improve to 22-5 and will play the No. 4 seeded Aitkin Gobblers (19-7) on March 8th at UM-Duluth with a 7:30 tipoff.
