Floodwood tops Lady Bulldogs

The Floodwood Polar Bears bested the Carlton Bulldogs in the section 7A playoffs Thursday night in Esko by a score of 66-20.

The Bulldogs had no answers for the Polar Bears on the night as they would fall back 44-13 at the half. The Polar Bears would outscore Carlton 19-7 in the second half to secure their advancement in the 7A playoffs.

Leading the Polar Bears to the victory was Stacey Larva who had a game high 17 points. Also putting in nice efforts on the evening were Megan Aho with 12 and Sydney Lough with 11. Following them was Mikayla Koivisto with 7, Alyssa White notching 5, Emily Hall adding 4, Marissa Johnson scored 3, and Mary Rohde, Honna Hendrickson, and Sara Scharnberg all topped the night off with 2 a piece.

Karly Voge led the Bulldogs with  7 points. Ashley Anderson notched 5 in the loss and Myranda Papesh and Taylor Klassen ended the evening with 4 points each.

The Bulldogs ended their season with a 6-19 record. The Polar Bears improve to 15-11 and will face the Cromwell Cardinals (15-9) on March 8th at UM-Duluth with a 1:00 PM tipoff in the Section 7A quarterfinals.
