Esko One Win Away From Return Trip to State

The Esko Eskomos moved one game closer to making the trip down to State for the second year in a row on Tuesday night. The Esko Eskomos would topple the Proctor Rails in the semifinals matchup, winning the game 74-37 to propel them to the Section 7AA finals.

The Eskomos raced out to the 41-17 lead at the half and never looked back. They would outscore the Rails 33-20 in the second half to secure the win.

Propelling the Eskomos to the victory was Kory Deadrick and Casey Staniger who both notched 17 points. Marc Peterson would follow them with 14, Aaron Olson tallied 8, Jacob Lindstrom tacked on 7, Jaxon Turner pitched in 6, Derek Pantsar added 3, and Nate Johnson scored 2 in the victory.

In the loss for the Rails, they were led by Jordan Bergquist who had 16 points. Bryden Urie scored 10, Henry Habermann added 7, and Travis Carlson ended the night with 4.

The Proctor Rails end their season with a 11-16 record. The Eskomos improve to 25-3 and will play a Polar League opponent, the Barnum Bombers (26-2) in the Section 7AA finals. The game will be on Thursday, March 6th at UM-Duluth’s Romano Gym with a 7 PM tipoff.
