Cloquet Boys Sixth in LSC Golf Meet

The Cloquet Lumberjack boy’s golf team tied for sixth in the Lake Superior Conference meet at the Cloquet Country Club this week. The meet played was nine holes instead of the normal 18-hole event.

The Hermantown Hawks won the team meet shooting a team score of 158. Duluth Denfeld and Superior were second, both shooting 165. Duluth Central and Duluth Marshall tied at fourth with a score of 169. Ashland and the Lumberjacks tied with a score of 172 and it was Proctor finishing eighth.

Ryan Stupka of Denfeld took first place in the individual meet with a score of 36.
Andrew Oakes of Hermantown and Jerry Anderson both tied for second with 38. Andy Krasaway from Hermantown was fourth with a round of 39. Rob Kraft of Superior, Alex Kolquist of Hermantown, and Riley Kolquist of Duluth Central tied for fifth, all shooting 40.

Ryan Korby, who shot a 42, led the Lumberjacks. Jack McFarlane and Derek Schrecengost both shot 43, and Eric Fryc shot a 44. Other Lumberjack golfers were Dan Nelson and Andrew Castle who shot 48.

The Lumberjacks are in action again Friday and Saturday as they play at Giants Ridge in the Quarry Invitational. The Lumberjacks will be hosting the Cloquet Invitational on Monday at the Cloquet Country Club.
