Lady Eskomos stop Rebels

   Through one half of play the Esko and Moose Lake-Willow River girls basketball teams were deadlocked at 18-18.  The second half was a completely different story.  Esko ran out to a 31-19 second half came away with a 49-37 victory over the Rebels on Monday night.  By virtue of the win the Eskomos improved to 19-5, while the Rebels fell to 17-6.

Ava Gonsorowski scored a game high 13 points for Esko and Kailee Klatt was right behind with 12 points.  Bailey Mudek also had a strong game with seven points, Kailee Kiminksi and Judy Wagemaker both added five points for Esko, Erika Shady added four points and Ashley Bergerson finished with three points.

Ava Szczyrbak led the Rebels with 11 points and was the only player in double digit scoring for ML-WR.  Adri Jusczak and Kayla Radel both recorded eight points for the Rebels, it was four points for Hannah Walker and two points each for Morgan Prachar, Holly Mattson and Jodi Michalski.

A couple of big keys for the Eskomos were the fact they hit three 3-pointers to none for the Rebels, and Esko also outscored the Rebels 14-3 from the free throw line.
